Visitors to Dubrovnik are struck by the city's most recognisable and defining feature - the city walls. They run intact for 1940 metres, encircling the entire city, and are one of the most beautiful and strongest fort systems in Europe.
A wonderful way to experience the city's history is to walk around the walls and visit some of their most impressive features. Five fortresses, including St Lawrence and Revelin, are incorporated within the walls. Minceta Tower, Fort Bokar and St John's Fortress provide visitors with unforgettable views.
