The Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo opened in 1995 and houses the foremost collection of post-war art in Japan. The museum itself is a sophisticated structure of grey marble, glass and steel in Metropolitan Kiba Park.
Every year, the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo draws on its permanent collection to present a series of four exhibitions, known as the "MOT Collection". Contemporary works are selected and organised around a particular theme.

Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and David Hockney all feature in the museum's permanent collection. Check the venue website for all the details on the latest temporary exhibitions.
