For 365 days a year, the Jardin d'Acclimatation in the Bois de Boulogne provides a welcome diversion from the hustle bustle of Parisian life. Naturally, it is in the summer months that the park really comes to life.
Easily reachable in the south-west of the city, the park offers a plethora of attractions: active rides such as bumper cars and go-karts and more sedate attractions in pony and camel rides. The park also incorporates a zoo, distorting mirrors and a puppet theatre, so if your kids aren't amused here, than they're probably spoilt.
The park puts on special events for kids on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays (all week during the school holidays) and with the Asterix-themed Gaulish Village and a Babar the elephant museum, you can even pretend you're enjoying a cultural day out.
