The Atlanta Jazz Festival bills itself as "the nation's largest free jazz festival." Held in venues across the city throughout May, the traditional focus is over Memorial Day Weekend at the end of the month.
The former Atlanta Free Jazz Festival has hosted some of the greatest names in jazz. Miles Davis headlined in 1983, with the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Al Jarreau, Chick Corea and Nina Simone following in later years. Venues across the city include Piedmont Park and Churchill Grounds.
The Atlanta Jazz Festival website posts details of this year's programme as soon as they are available.
