The world's top female skiers return to Cortina d'Ampezzo for a massive two days on the Alpine Skiing tour. Day one features the Downhill, day two the Super G.
The Alpine World Cup is the most glamorous event in skiing. Originally there were many skiing competitions throughout the world, but in 1962 the FIS created a unified competition. All the best skiers now compete for the FIS Alpine World Cup, the definitive tournament run very much along the lines of Formula One motor racing. The competitors travel the world to premier ski resorts, gathering points as they go. There are separate awards for the individual disciplines, but the Holy Grail is the title of Alpine World Cup Overall Champion.
