Part of the Caulfield Spring Carnival, the Caulfield Cup at the Caulfield Racecourse is one of Australia's biggest horse races. Every jockey, owner and trainer dreams of winning both this and the Melbourne Cup - but few succeed!
As well as Caulfield Cup Day (on 17 October in 2009), the Caulfield Spring Carnival also features two other major races. The previous Saturday (10 October) sees The Caulfield Guineas Day, while the Wednesday in between (14 October) is the Thousand Guineas Day.
