An enviable mix of gigs and DJ sets in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen makes up Scotland's Triptych Festival, which has been running since 2001. Among this year's highlights are local boys, Mogwai, Wu Tang Clan legend, the Rza and Radio 1's Gilles Peterson.
Triptych - in association with Tennent's Lager - has, in its short history, featured a range of artists such as Boom Bip, Kid Koala, Future Pilot AKA, Roots Manuva, Sly and Robbie, Talvin Singh, Zero 7, Coldcut and plenty more. Films are also programmed, along with a variety of workshops that allow visitors to delve into the music industry, try their hand at some technical DJ skills or learn about band dynamics.
Some of the events are free, others priced individually, and tickets should be bought in advance to avoid disappointment.
Full details are released first on the Triptych website for who will be playing at the eight Edinburgh, nine Glasgow and four Aberdeen venues usually used.
