The streets of the Upper Austrian city of Linz, two hours up the Danube from Vienna, explode as performers from around Europe come together for the spectacular Pflasterspektakel festival. Magic, mime, acrobatics and juggling acts bring the streets alive.
Pflasterspektakel means "paving-stone spectacular" and during the festival around 40 performance areas are laid out on the streets of Linz city centre.
In addition to the street performances, a host of other activities fill out the programme. In the late afternoon, pantomime and magic shows transform the Old City into a dream world, then in the evenings several stages host performnaces and fire shows and parades light up the streets.
