Flanders International Film Festival - Ghent

***
When:
Oct 2010 (annual)
Where:
Ghent
The Flanders International Film Festival, held in Ghent, is Belgium's most prominent annual film event. It presents more than 150 feature films and 90 shorts to over 100,000 spectators, concentrating on independent films, shorts and seminars.
The festival was founded in 1974 by members of the university film club and a local arthouse cinema. Since then it has become truly international and, in 1997, was listed as one of the world's best film festivals in Adam Langer's International Film Festival Guide.

The festival was the first in the world to focus on the importance of scores, stages concerts of film music and accompanied silent movies, and presents an international competition on the impact of music on film. For further details of the programme, please visit the festival website.
