The annual Dunya Festival in Rotterdam offers a wealth of arts and culture from around the globe. Approximately 200,000 people enjoy a day of action-packed fun in the open air near Rotterdam's Euromast.
Activities are spread over several stages, featuring well-known and lesser-known artists from the Netherlands and further afield. A wide variety of music, storytelling, poetry and performance is presented, along with a mini Dunya Festival for children. The different cultures represented include Anatolian, Antillian/Aruban, Moroccan, Indonesian, Cape Verdian and Surinamian.
The heart of the festival is in the park at the Euromast and Parklaan in the centre of Rotterdam. The immediate surroundings are closed to traffic, but the area can easily be reached by public transport - take tram 5, 6, and 9 from Rotterdam Central Station, or go to Leuvehaven underground station.
