The Romaeuropa Festival is a huge cultural undertaking, spanning dozens of theatre, music and dance events. Performances take place throughout the city of Rome, including at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, Conciliazione and Teatro Olimpico.
The 2009 edition opens with The Magic Flute by the Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio, followed by Woyzeck on the Highveld, interpreted by the William Kentridge Handspring Puppet Company. Japanese choreographer Saburo Teshigawara dances on broken glass with his performance Glass Tooth, while Raimund Hoghe gives Boléro Variations.
