The wonderfully decorated Würzburg Christmas Market, set on the Marktplatz, has been in existence for more than 200 years. The air is filled with spicy smells from innumerable decorated stalls and the sound of traditional Christmas songs.
The picturesque market between the gothic Marienkapelle (Mary's Chapel) and the Rococo Falkenhaus offers mulled wine, arts and crafts and delicious regional produce. At the weekend Würzburg has a special kind of transportation - the Christmas Express. It provides access to all the top shopping areas. When you see a tram looking like a Christmas tree, you've found it.
