The Barcelona International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival presents a programme of full-length features, shorts and documentaries, all addressing issues relating to today's homosexual community. Not limited to the Catalonian capital, screenings also take place in Lleida, Girona and Tarragona.
The festival, often abbreviated to FICGLB, screens a mix of Spanish and international films. In particular, it supports countries where there is little freedom to express homosexual issues, such as in Peru, Chile, Venezuela, El Salvador and Cuba.
There are panel awards for the best short film, best feature film and best documentary. There are also Audience Awards, where the viewers get to vote for their favourite feature, short and documentary.
