New Zealand goes film crazy during its annual nationwide series of film festivals. The event starts here in Auckland's theatres and cinemas and then tours round the North and South Islands' main cities until November.
Originally founded in 1970 as part of the Auckland Festival, the event has spread its feelers across the whole country, with much of the programme shown at the Wellington Film Festival later in the month, and then in towns and cities across the North and South Islands.
The full schedule is released in mid-June. Keep an eye on the festival website for all the breaking news.
