The Yu Yuan Garden in the Old City features 30 Ming and Qing dynasty pavilions surrounded by lotus ponds and ornate bridges. The traditional bazaar sells kitsch souvenirs and the dumplings at Nan Xiang restaurant have attracted numerous visiting celebrities.
Once a private Ming dynasty garden, the land is divided into six scenic areas - the Grand Rockery, the Ten Thousand-Flower Pavilion, the Hall of Heralding Spring, the Hall of Jade Magnificence, the Inner Garden, and the Lotus Pool.
