Shanghai Art Museum's 2008 Shanghai Biennale is titled Translocalmotion. The much-awaited events address urbanisation and its social, economic and cultural effects. The theme was chosen to echo the Shanghai 2010 Expo, which carries the motto "Better City, Better Life".
A symposium of talks and conferences by leading art critics and curators always runs in conjunction with the exhibition.
