During Photomonth, Krakow's galleries, cafes, privately-owned flats and industrial spaces are filled with snapshots by renowned artists. With over 40 exhibitions and a parallel programme of films, workshops and artist meet-and-greets, this is one of Poland's biggest photography festivals.
As ever, the festival is divided into two parts. The first is based on a chosen theme, which in 2008 was 'Youth'. The second part selects a guest country to present exhibitions from home-grown photographers.
As well as the main festival, 20 extra displays form the OFF Festival, where young or novice photographers exhibit works in pubs, cafes and galleries across the city.
