As the Balearic summer creeps in, thrill-seeking clubbers flock to Ibiza for the legendary Opening Parties. The big clubs, keen to outdo each other, pull every string to make their party the one to remember for the whole season.
The string of Opening Parties, spanning mid-May to late June, is when the hype really builds up and the summer seems like it will never end. Hotly tipped and highly recommended in 2009 is Cocoon's opening bash at Amnesia on 15 June with Sven Väth in the Main Room. The following week, Armada / Release Yourself kicks off (also at Amnesia) with Roger Sanchez on the terrace.
