Cinemas, arthouses, schools and libraries across the whole of France and the French-speaking world participate in November's Documentary Film Month (Le Mois du Film Documentaire). Some 120,000 visitors and hundreds of filmmakers take part each year.
The festival seeks to unite audiences with directors, and new talent with old, via a series of documentary screenings, workshops, exhibitions and conferences.
Wherever you are in France, you're likely to find at least one local venue participating in the festival. Full details of this year's extensive programme can be found on the Documentary Film Month website.
