Polé Polé means "take it easy" in Swahili, and that's what it's all about at this exotic summer music festival, with events in Ghent and Zeebrugge.
The first event takes place in the centre of Ghent during the Ghent festivities at the end of July and is absolutely free. The stage is set up across the river Leie, and audiences can enjot the action from giant pontoons.
The second event is held in August at the coastal town of Zeebrugge. A stylish festival village located right on the beach includes two stages, four dance halls, circus animations, brass bands, souks, cocktail bars and food stalls.
Past festivals have included performances by Cuban, Senegalese, Jamaican and Colombian bands, and this year promises to be yet another tropical extravaganza.
