The annual Gent Jazz Festival takes place at the city's Bijloke Concert Hall. The event boasts an excellent line-up with performances spread over twelve days.
Highlights in 2009 range from blues guitar giant BB King and the McCoy Tyner Trio featuring Bill Frisell and Gary Bartz to Jamie Cullum, the Richard Galliano All Star Quartet and a Nina Simone Tribute featuring Dianne Reeves, Lizz Wright, Angelique Kidjo and Simone.
