The Florence Marathon organises men's and women's events, as well as a special non-competitive mini-run (Ginky Family Run) for kids and families. More than 6000 athletes tackle the picturesque route of the main race.
The 42km-long race starts at Piazzale Michelangelo and crosses the Ponte alla Vittoria, then follows a course through the Parco delle Cascine, Piazza del Duomo, Piazza Signoria and ends at Piazza Santa Croce, just 200 metres from the starting gate in the centre of town.
Interested participants can download an online registration form from the marathon's website. Entries must be made by mid-November.
