The ornate Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona was originally built for the Orfeo (Catalan Choir) in 1908, and designed by Catalan modernist architect Domenech i Montaner. There are guided tours around the building, but primarily the Palau is a venue for internationally renowned orchestral concert and recitals.
On the outside the building is a mix of red brick, elaborate mosaic columns and figures. Its interior is known for its perfect exemplification of Catalonian modernist style and it was declared a World Heritage Building by UNESCO in 1997.
