Every evening Mallory Square in Key West sees a congregation of artists, visitors and performers, there to celebrate the end of another day in paradise and enjoy the spectacular sunset. The gathering has become famous and has grown into a nightly festival complete with food carts, psychics and, of course, thousands of tourists.
The gatherings outgrew their original 1960s status as an unorganised event, so the Key West Cultural Preservation Society, Inc was set up by locals keen to preserve the tradition. They negotiated a lease with the City of Key West with the understanding that CPS would manage Sunset and ensure its artistic integrity.

The aim of the event is to encourage art as a local cottage industry and many of those who take part are fiercely loyal to their celebration. While the acts vary in professionalism, a good time is guaranteed.
