Prague's Festival of Italian Operas was originally called the Verdi Festival and entirely dedicated to the works of the giant of 19th-century Italian opera. Today the festival at the State Opera House also incorporates performances by other famous composers.
In 2009 it opens and closes with one of Puccini's most famous works, Tosca. Verdi's La Traviata is also performed along with works by Pachelbel, Mozart, Vivaldi.
