Nenmara Vallangi Vela is the annual festival at Nellikulangara Bhagavathy Temple in Palakkad. The celebrations open with the traditional Kodiyettam (flag hoisting) and conclude with Vela, during which 30 costumed elephants line up under lavishly decorated canopies.
The festival is celebrated by the neighbouring villages of Nenmara and Vallangi to highlight the meeting of the deities of the Nenmara Bhagavathy Temple and Vallangi Siva Temple.
