Manchester Camerata's New Year's Eve Gala Concert at Bridgewater Hall features popular opera arias and choruses to welcome in the new year.
Taking a risk at the old Free Trade Hall on New Year's Day 1985, the Manchester Camerata promoted a seasonal concert, which sold out. The tradition continues to this day, the orchestra having made the smooth transition from the Free Trade Hall to Bridgewater Hall when the latter opened in 1996.
