Celebrating the sound of choral music, in 2010 the Chinese city of Shaoxing hosts the biggest choir competition in the world, the World Choir Games. The event, formerly known as the Choir Olympics, welcomes new talent from around the globe.
Amateurs hit the high notes and stretch their vocal chords in an attempt to wow audiences and judges in this choral marathon comprising 20 different award-winning categories, from Jazz to Gospel & Spiritual to Folklore.
At the opening ceremony, participating nations parade through the streets to witness the event's flag being raised, then a succession of concerts and competitions bring song to venues across the city.
