 Edinburgh is a compact city well suited to exploring on foot. Start in the Grassmarket, down in the bowels of the old town, past specialist and antique shops, leading up to Bread Street where you'll find the gorgeous art deco Point Hotel. The monochrome decorated bar is staffed by gorgeous barmen in starched white aprons, who will cheerily serve you fabulous martinis, a good cup of tea, or even a glass of the local amber nectar Irn Bru if you're really desperate! From there you can climb up to the castle and have supper at The Witchery - a tiny, unique, candlelit restaurant at the top of the Royal Mile.
